By Mukunda Subedi, Bardiya, July 18: Gore Thapa a 70-year-old man has been killed by a tiger. Bardiya National Park has said that the man was a resident of Thakurbaba Municipality- 6.
Thapa had gone to Bufferzone Community Forest just next to the national park to let his buffaloes graze. However, in the evening when Thapa did not return home it was then when the workers of the National Park began a search for him.
Ashim Kumar Thapa, Assistant Conservation Officer at the Bardiya National Park has said that ultimately his corpse was found in Kaligaudi Bufferzone Community Forest today morning.
Recently this month on 5 July a 67 year resident of Madhuban Municipality- 3 named Chitra Bahadur K.C was killed by a tiger. In Bardiya National Park alone 16 people have been killed by tigers within a year itself.
Despite repeated requests from National Park authorities and the Division Forest Office to not enter Community forests that are prone to tiger attacks the tiger attacks continue.
