Banepa, June 27 : Police have arrested three people in Banepa on the charge of their involvement in robbing a woman of gold and silver.
The accused allegedly stole gold weighing around 18 tola (one tola is equivalent to 11.66 gms) and silver from the house of one Joshana Shrestha of Banepa municipality-9. The incident happened on Tuesday morning.
According to the Area Police Office Banepa's police inspector Yogendra Timilsina, the arrested are Karuna Ghimire living in rent at Banepa-8, Raju Manandhar of the same locality and Srijana Acharya from Indrawati-5 in Sindhupalchowk and currently living at Banepa-8. Police confiscated 10 tola of gold and 12 tola of silver from them.
Police have already sought permission from the District Court Kaverepalnchowk to put them in custody for further investigation into the case.
