Mahottari, March 17: The Holi festival is being celebrated for three consecutive days in Madhesh province. Due to the alteration in the tithi, preparations have been made for the festival for three consecutive days this time.
The hill-origin people in the Madesh are observing the Holi festival today. In the Mithila region, however, there is a tradition of celebrating 'Holi' the next day by completing the Madhyamiki Parikrama in Janakpurdham. Since the ritual will complete only tomorrow, preparations are being made to celebrate Holi on Saturday.
Accordingly, Holi will be observed in Janakpur on Saturday. "Members of Madhyamiki Parikrama arrived Janakpur today with the Dola, it will be Madhyagriha Prarikaram tomorrow, so Holi will be celebrated here on Saturday," said Janakpur-based journalist Birendra Raman.
As a result, Holi will be celebrated for three consecutive days in Madhes this year.
