By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Aug. 30: A soldier of Nepali Army has committed suicide at the Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali, by shooting himself up on Sunday morning.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information (DPR&I) of the Army Headquarters, the man, who was on duty at the Headquarters in a security of Ripumardini petrol pump station, committed suicide by using his own rifle he possessed.
The deceased has been identified as a permanent resident of the then Ranipokhari Village Development Committee in Tanahun district, according to the DPR. The Headquarters, however, has not disclosed his identity.
The DPR said that they had informed the family members of the deceased. Upon the presence of forensic team of Nepal Police and military police of the army, the body was taken to the TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for postmortem.
The Headquarters has said that it had already begun an investigation into the case.
