Hetauda, June 25 : Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City honoured seven journalists on Wednesday on the occasion of its seventh municipal assembly for their contributions to the media sector.
The Metropolitan City said that former chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Makawanpur chapter Nabraj Sharma was prized with Senior Journalist Award. The award carries a purse of Rs 17,000. He was prized by recognizing his dedication to this field for more than three decades. Sharma is the Editor of Prakash Weekly. Chief Minister of Bagmati State Dormani Poudel felicitated journalist Sharma.
Likewise, six other journalists were given development journalism prize. Journalists Prakash Dahal, Subas Bidari, Sudip Siwakoti, Krishna Udas Khanal, Suresh Shrestha and Sarita Dahal were prized with Rs 13,500 each.
Mayor Hari Bahadur Mahat and Deputy Mayor Mina Kumari Lama honoured those journalists on the occasion.
