Manang, July 12: The district administration office has asked the settlements on the banks of the Marsyangdi river to be highly cautious against flooding.
"This year's monsoon still remains. Settlements on the riverbanks are on behalf of the district disaster management committee asked to remain alert against flooding," read a notice issued by the district administration office.
Settlements on the riverbanks at Chame Rural Municipality-4 and 5 and Naso Rural Municipality-1 are at high risk of being flooded, said Chief District Officer Bishnu Lamichhane.
Hundreds of families were displaced in flooding and landslides in the district on June 14. As a result, many parts of the district are disconnected from basic facilities like electricity and internet service after transformers and internet towers at many places have damaged.
