Lahan, Dec 29 : All schools in Siraha municipality have been closed for five days, starting today due to the increasing cold. A continuous dip in the mercury following have cold wave has made daily life difficult in the tarai since the past few days.
A holiday has been announced for all the school in the municipality from December 29 to January 2, considering the cold and cold wave, says a statement issued by head of the education department of the municipality, Subodh Lama. The holidays will be deducted from the annual leave.
Likewise, considering the rising cold, the local administration, police and the local governments have put up fireplace in different locations. Blankets and quilts are also being distributed to the needy.
Meanwhile, the number of people coming with cold-related complaints has been increasing in the local health and medical centres. Daily public life has been severely hit with dense fog and cold wave. The elderly and the children have been the most affected.
