Tulsipur, Nov 17 (RSS):
The Adarsha Model Secondary School at Rapti rural municipality-2 of Dang has received assistance for the construction of a hostel for the students with visual impairment.
Rapti Society Japan collected Rs 41,440 for the construction. Former student at the school Tulsiram Pokhrel and Society chairperson Yubaraj Regmi took the initiative to collect the money in Japan. The amount has been handed to principal Kiran Pokhrel and coordinator of the committee on construction of the hostel, Basudev Neupane.
Although the school began to provide education to the people with the visual impairment under the special education scheme launched by the government, there was acute shortage of proper infrastructure for it, principal Pokhrel said, adding that the existing school building is in sorry state- it has leaky roof; snakes enter into the class room in rainy season. Despite this, the students are provided education up to Grade 12 here.
According to him, there are eight girls and five boys with visual problem in the school. The school began special teaching before 24 years. There are two teachers.
