Kathmandu, May 24: An emergency full meeting of the Supreme Court (SC) held today condoled the demise of its first female judge Sushila Singh 'Silu' and wished for eternal peace of the departed soul.
The meeting observed a one-minute silence on the demise of Singh and expressed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family.
Singh who was born on March 5, 1940 at Sohrakhutte of Kathmandu had joined the SC on April 19, 2001 as the temporary judge and was appointed on the post of permanent judge on December 30, 2002. She was retired on March 6, 2002 due to age-limit.
The meeting termed the death of Singh as a loss in the sector of law and justice. She had passed away on Friday and her last rites were conducted on Saturday.
