Kaski, Oct. 5 : The Rupa rural municipality is to provide service to the residents through its own ambulance.
Earlier, there was compulsion to call for an ambulance from Pokhara, in case there was an emergency.
A procedure will be developed to provide the ambulance service is a concessional rate for the residents, said rural municipality chair Nawaraj Ojha.
The ambulance was received in grant assistance by the Indian Embassy.
MP Khagaraj Adhikari handed over the key of the ambulance to municipality chair Ojha at a function held here on Sunday.
The rural municipality has also been running a five-bed hospital with an expert medical doctor.
It will be upgraded to 15-bed hospital this fiscal year, as budget has already been allocated for the same, said Ojha.
The rural municipality also targets to provide health service along with laboratory facilities from health posts in all the seven wards. Currently, ward no. 2 and 3 do not have a health post and buildings are being constructed to establish them.
