Kathmandu, Nov. 30: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Prakash Chandra Lohani has spoken of the need of the leadership of youths in the party.
In his address to a press meet here today, he pledged to support Rajendra Lignden in the upcoming party’s General Convention as the candidate for the party chair as he wished to hand over the leadership to a new generation.
The leader said, “Most of the general convention representatives got elected from across the country aspire to see the youth leadership in the party.” As he said, recognising the sentiments of the mass, he had decided to support Ligden as the candidate for the party's new chair. He took time to urge two others party chairs Pashupati Shamser JB Rana and Kamal Thapa to pass on the leadership to a fresh generation and to do a role of guardians in the party.
“Time demands youths in the party leadership for its institutional development and organizational strengthening,” he said.
The party will be holding its general convention in Kathmandu on December 1-3 first time after its unification with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Unified) around two years ago.
