Banepa, Oct. 6 : The Lankuribhanjyang-Kushadevi-Panauti-Namobuddha-Chaukidanda road expansion drive has gained momentum amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The expansion of the road – which is taken as an alternative route to the BP Highway has received support from Bagmati State government.
The expanded stretch would be connected to Dapcha via Panauti, Shankhu and Namobuddha while another route would be connected to Katunjebeshi via Shankhu Dahatar.
Lumbini-Khani Bright JV is constructing the Rylae-Kushadevi-Panauti-Dahaltar road section at the cost of Rs 388.31 million. A contract has been signed to complete the construction by mid-March 2021.
As informed, the road would be linked with BP Highway via the route of Gwarko of Lalitpur and Chaukidanda of Kavrepalanchowk.
A joint panel of the Bagmati State Policy and Planning Commission and National Planning Commission had made an onsite monitoring of the ongoing road expansion drive on Saturday.
On the occasion, acting vice-chair of the state planning commission Shyam Kumar Basnet said that the route has been taken as a crucial way to exit from Kathmandu and enter into the Valley.
