Rukum Purba, Feb 11 : The Rika section along the Sahid Marg in Rukum district which had remained obstructed due to heavy snowfall since last week has resumed.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Rukum Purba, Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha, vehicular movement along the route reopened on Thursday.
The route gets distributed each year due to the snowfall. However, the Lukum-Patihalna section along the Mid-Hill Highway which was blocked by the snowfall is yet to be restored.
Meantime, the District Health Office, Rukum Purba, has launched the medical mask distribution campaign in view of the existing risk of the COVID-19 infection. The target groups are those unmasked people in public areas. So far, the Office provided 1,000 masks to the public. People here have reportedly started discarding the healthy safety measures against COVID-19.
