Damauli, Jan 28 : Relief amount has been provided to the family of 10-year-old boy Ishak Sunar, who lost life in leopard attack at Lohipakha of Bandipur rural municipality in the district yesterday.
Division Forest Office, Tanahu, provided Rs 50,000 as the expense for death rituals to the victim family today. The boy was killed by the leopard Monday evening.
Assist forest officer, Baburam Uprety, informed that the relief amount was handed over to victim's mother, Pabitra Sunar.
The big cat pounced on the child on the way suddenly while he was returning home together with his mother after attending a feast organized nearby. The dead body of the child was found 80 meter away from home in a ravine.
In the recent 20 months alone, nine children have lost lives in leopard attack in Tanahu district.
The directive passed by the Ministry of Forest and Environment has the provision that the family of those killed in wild animal attack get up to Rs 1 million as relief amount.
