Birgunj, Sept 25 : Paddy, vegetables and houses have suffered damages in Bara, Parsa and Rautahat due to incessant rainfall taken place for the past few days due to impact of westerly low-pressure system.
Eight houses have collapsed in Bara while paddy and vegetables planted on thousands of hectares of land have been damaged due to the rainfall.
Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Bara, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gautam Mishra, said that a house of Devraj Mukhiya of Kulhabi municipality-7 has been damaged. Similarly, houses of Bunilal Paswan, Surendra Paswan of Pachrauta municipality-1, Chhabilal Yadav of Simraungadh municipality-8, Ramashish Sah Kanu of Gadimai municipality-4.
The rain has also damaged a house of Mahagadhimai municipality-2 and he has been compelled to take shelter at the house of neighbour.
Likewise, property worth Rs 800,000 has been damaged when the rainfall collapsed the house of Rama Kumari Kunwar of Thori rural municipality and her family is taking shelter at a neighbor Subhadra Rimal’s house.
Though the rainfall has caused huge damages, no human casualty has been reported, said chairperson of Thori rural municipality, PL Shrestha.
Most of the parts of Bodhimai, Paroha, Rajpur and Katahariya municipality have been waterlogged and rice and vegetable planted there have been damaged, said locals.
