Kathmandu, March 6: The weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country with chances of rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning and gusty wind occurring at many places today due to the influence of the Westerly and local winds, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.
Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said there is possibility of rain along with thunder, lightning and high winds taking place throughout the country because of the influence of the Westerly wind and the moisture-laden air along with the effect of the local wind.
"Precipitation along with gusty wind, thunder, lightning and hailstone will likely occur throughout the country from towards the afternoon. The rainfall will not be sporadic and light," she said. In the Kathmandu Valley also it will be cloudy with light rainfall taking place in the afternoon.
The effect this weather system will be much in the western part of the country. Partly to generally cloudy condition prevails in the central and eastern parts as well as in the western hilly region of the country at present.
There is partly cloudy in the rest of the regions.
Possibility of rain along with thunder, lightning and gusty winds on Saturday
The weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country with chances of gusty winds, thunder, lightning and hailstone taking place in many places on Saturday, the Division stated.
On Sunday, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the eastern hilly region with the possibility of brief rain at one or two places of the hilly region.
The Division has issued a warning for the next 24 hours, urging for adopting precaution given the possibility of rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, gusty winds and hailstone occurring at some places of the country as well as considering the chances of light to moderate snowfall at some places of high hilly and mountainous regions.
As per the latest weather information, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was 9.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature 22.8 degrees Celsius today. Likewise, the lowest temperature in the country, at 2.5 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Jumla today.
