Ranjha, Sept 21 : A male inmate infected with the COVID-19 has died at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke district today in course of treatment.
According to the District Health Office, Banke's COVID-19 Focal Person Naresh Shrestha, the deceased was a 58-year-old man from Sahare of Gurbhakot Municipality in Surkhet district. Shrestha shared that the infected inmate died in isolation facility at 6:25 am.
The prisoner, serving his term for murder, was admitted to Bheri Hospital after he complained of health hazard. Nasal and throat swab of the inmate suffering from asthma and respiratory related complication were tested. In the report later, he was found to have contracted the flu-like infection.
With this, the number of people succumbing to the deadly infection in Banke district has reached 11. Among them, four were from outside of the Banke district, informed Shrestha.
