Ranjha (Banke), July 11 : High alertness is maintained with the increasing risk of inundation and floods in the district.
The locality near Rapti River faces risk of inundation and floods every rainy season. People have been alert in view of the rising water level in the river. Chief District Officer Ram Bahadur Kurunbang said the administration has kept its entire mechanism in high alertness to tackle the possible risk of natural disasters.
He added that the local administration has also urged the bodies concerned, helping hands like Red Cross and locals to be alert over the possible risk in their localities. CDO Kurungbang added that all three security bodies- Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Forces- are standby to minimize the damages in the disasters.
The security body also made mock rescue operation in Rapti River on Friday. Superintendent of Police Om Bahadur Rana shared that the mock rescue operation showed that the security team could quickly rescue the victims with rigorous preparedness.
