Tanahun, Mar.8: The District Police Office, Tanahun has made public the initial details of the damages caused by the fire that broke out in Damauli, the district headquarters of Tanahun, on Sunday.
The fire damaged 11 houses, shops and warehouses partially or completely, according to police.

According to Yubaraj Khadka, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Tanahun, the hardware shop and warehouse operated by Bhupal Ale were completely damaged in the fire.
The backyard of Jyoti Kumar Shrestha's three-storey concrete house has been partially damaged and the warehouse has been completely damaged in the blaze.

Similarly, one side of the backyard of a three-storey concrete house of Balaram Rana has been partially damaged by the fire.Two shutters in front of the Tanahunnsur Mini Market operated by Krishna Bahadur Thapa have been partially damaged. Hom Bahadur Gurung's three-storey house has also been damaged.

Similarly, Ram Maya Gurung's three-storey house has also been damaged.Lil Bahadur B.K.'s back window of a two-storey concrete house has been partially damaged by fire.
According to DSP Khadka, the rear window and door of Navin Gurung's four-storey house was partially damaged. Similarly, the glass of the back window of Deepak Kumar Shrestha's three-storey house has been damaged.

He informed that the back window of the three-storey concrete house of Birdev Dhamel was normally burnt. Police said that an investigation was underway into the incident.
Assistant Chief District Officer Kashiram Gaire said that the fire was brought under control with the help and cooperation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, district-based leaders and all stakeholders, district residents, army, police, armed forces, local government and locals.

Meanwhile, Tanahun Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tanahun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Damauli market unit have requested the government and other concerned agencies to assess the losses and provide compensation.

A joint statement signed by the association's president Pavindra Kumar Shrestha, general secretary Subodh Adhikari, Damauli market unit committee vice-president Rajesh Malla and secretary Madhav Neupane said that the damage should be properly assessed and immediate assistance should be provided to all concerned bodies.
