Kathmandu, Mar. 1: This year's pre-monsoon has made its presence in the country. The pre-monsoon period runs for three months: March, April and May. Pre- monsoon is marked by continuous influence in weather in the afternoon and evening in the hilly regions.
According to meteorologist Samir Shrestha, pre-monsoon is characterized by sunny days and brief thundershowers during afternoons and evenings.
The arrival of pre-monsoon is caused by impact of local winds which is met by Westerly winds when the winter season has just been over. A rise in temperature also fueled impact of local winds. However, other parts of the country will remain unaffected by the pre-monsoon.
