Kathmandu, May 26 : The Education and Health Committee under the House of Representatives has directed the government to allocate the budget of the coming fiscal year focussing on prevention and control of COVID-19.
The committee issued this directive to the Ministry of Health and Population on Monday. It also suggested the government to increase tax on alcohol and tobacco products, and to invest the revenue collected from the tax increase in the health sector, committee president Jayapuri Gharti said.
The meeting passed the annual report of the committee. It also endorsed four bills including the Madan Bhandari University Bill and the Bill Related to Amending Some Education Acts.
