By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 16: Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal has handed over two fully equipped ambulances to TU Teaching Hospital as a gift.
"In a simple and gracefulceremony, held today, Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Mazhar Javed handed over a gift of two fully equipped ambulances to Dr. Rohit Kumar Pokhrel Executive Director Teaching Hospital, Tribhuwan University (TUTH) today. The handing over ceremony was held at the Hospital on the occasion of the 38th Annual Day of the TUTH," the embassy of Pakistan said in a press release issued on Wednesday, July 15.
The event was attended by the senior diplomats of the Embassy and the top faculty of the Hospital. Executive Director Dr. Pokhrel thanked and appreciated Pakistan’s support for the Hospital.
He said that the ambulances gifted today, besides serving the patients in and around Kathmandu would also symbolize the bonds of love between the two countries. He recalled that the Embassy had also gifted ambulances to the hospital in the past and expressed the hope that such cooperation would continue in future too. Dr. Pokharel also appreciated the role of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) in providing post-graduate facilities to Nepali doctors, according to the press release.
Ambassador Javed said there was a large untapped potential existing between medical institutions in Pakistan and those in Nepal. He lauded the level of cooperation between the Nepali hospitals and Pakistani health infrastructure and wished this cooperation to grow further, especially with the Teaching Hospital. The Ambassador stressed that relations between Pakistan and Nepal found their roots in the strong sentiment of love and friendship between the two countries. He expressed his desire to further these relations, the press release read.
