Simkot, Dec 15 : Children of the 12-17 age group are to be inoculated against COVID-19 in the Humla district. Moderna vaccines would be administered to 9,621 children of that age group.
The first dose of the vaccines would be administered through 100 vaccination centers set up at seven rural municipalities of the district from December 19 to 29, Chief of the Health Service Office, Prem Bahadur Singh said.
According to him, the health workers would be mobilized soon along with the vaccines for this purpose. The women health volunteers in the villages are also to be mobilized.
The second dose of this vaccine would be given from January 16 to 26 at the concerned vaccination centers.
However, the children at wards number 4, 5, and 6 of Namkha Rural Municipality are not to be given the jabs as it would be impossible for the health workers to travel to these areas along with the vaccines due to snowfall.
Children at these wards would be vaccinated after winter is over, the Office said.
