MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. About 186,000 people arrived in Russia from Donbass and Ukraine, including 168,000 residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) whose evacuation began on February 18, the law-enforcement agencies told TASS on Monday.
"According to the data as of the morning of March 7, 185,900 people crossed the border of Russia, of whom almost 168,000 arrived from the DPR and LPR, beginning from February 18. Their number increased by 6,000 people in the past 24 hours," the law-enforcement agencies said.
About 20,000 people who are citizens of Russia, Ukraine and other states were evacuated from Ukraine through checkpoints in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk Regions and the Republic of Crimea, they said.
A total of 267 temporary accommodation centers are operating in 25 Russian regions for people evacuated from Donbass. They are providing shelter for almost 18,300 civilians, of whom over 9,000 are children, the law-enforcement agencies said.
