Kathmandu, Aug. 31: Nepal Students Union (NSU), sister organization of the opposition Nepali Congress, has said that the government’s decision to scrap the training run by Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) was unfortunate.
Issuing a press release on Monday, NSU President Rajeev Dhungana said that government’s decision of scrapping CMA, ANM, Lab Assistant related to medical education, 18-month health training, among other technical training run by CTEVT was wrong. ‘Uncertainty has surfaced after the decision of shutting down such trainings run from the past 25 years, without a further plan and alternative to technical education.”
The NSU said that government’s decision of scrapping training without any plan was condemnable, while jeopardizing the future of 12,000 students acquiring the training .
