Baitedi, Dec 12 : The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) set up at the district hospital in Baitedi is yet to come into operation for lack of technical personnel.
The ICU with ventilator was established ten days ago with the support of the Sudur Paschim provincial government.
The ICU was set up with the objective of providing intensive care to the patients who are seriously ill with COVID-19. "We lack the required technical personnel to run the ICU," said chief of the hospital Dr Basant Raj Joshi. The doctors and nurses working in the hospital need training to run the ICU.
As a result, people requiring intensive care are still forced to leave the district for such service. So far, 585 people have tested to positive to Corona Virus, with one death in Baitedi.
