Kathmandu, Oct. 28: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said no discussions were held so far in regard to impeaching Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
In his address to a press meet organised today at Dhangadhi Airport by the Socialist Press Organisation Nepal, Kailali, leader Nepal said the matter had not entered into the discussions among five political parties. He was of the view that there should be no interference in the affairs of an independent judiciary.
The argument that judges who delivered a historic verdict should be removed from office was totally inappropriate, added Chair Nepal.
The party Chair took time to claim that his party believed in the establishment of new and revised political customs and culture. “Policies and ideologies are prominent in the communist party, but not any individual or a leader", he shared.
On a different note, he said the parties in the existing political coalition could collaborate in the upcoming election, but ruled out the party's unification with any party.
