Kathmandu, Mar. 10: Traffic police in Kathmandu has imposed a new traffic rule in the Koteswar-Kalanki road section. The rule aimed at easing traffic flow and minimizing accidents will come into effect from March 15.
Accordingly, the public and goods carrier vehicles that travel in low speed will take the left lane while private and small vehicles plying in high speed will follow the right lane of the road, according to SSP at Metropolitan Traffic Police Division Bhim Prasad Dhakal.
The new rules comes after discussion with the stakeholders. The same rule has been applied on the Surya Binayak to Koteswar road section.
Furthermore, the division has designated the speed limit in the Koteswar-Kalanki road as 50 km per hour in the main lane and 20 km per hour in the service lane.
