Kathmandu, March 8: The National Employment Summit is set to take place on June 25-26 in Kathmandu.
The Summit aims to connect youths of the country to skills and employment opportunities by providing job opportunities to them, said Madhav Prasad Dhungel, vice president of the National Youth Council.
The target group for job opportunities in the Summit is those who have returned home from foreign jobs and the unemployed Nepali youths, he said.
“An agreement will be reached among employers and prospective youths based on their skills and efficiencies,” he said.
The Summit will be organised in coordination with the Council and collaboration with the Ministries of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Agriculture and Livestock Development, Foreign Affairs and Science and Technologies, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
For preparations for the Summit, an executive committee led by NRNA senior vice president Badri KC has been formed.
