Kanchanpur, Nov 13 : Movement on multi-span bridge over Mahakali river of Kanchanpur district has been closed.
Mahakali municipality has closed the movement from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm today for the repair and maintenance of the bridge, said acting chief administrative officer, Hari Dutta Joshi.
He said they have requested all not to take any movement on the bridge until repair and maintenance task of the bridge completes.
The Sudurpaschim government had carried out repair and maintenance of the dilapidated bridge investing six million rupees last year.
The bridge is 1.5 meters wide and 1,452 meters long. It is the longest bridge of the country and known as the longest suspension bridge in the Asia.
The bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs 94.241 million in 2061 BS.
