Ratnanagar, July 3: The Ratnanagar municipality has officially adopted a policy to not allow women with children two years and below to leave the country.
"Woman who leaves their kids of below two years with their parents or in-laws to go abroad shall not be given permission," reads the 17-point proposal endorsed by the municipal assembly for the new fiscal year.
The ninth municipal assembly of the municipality passed a 17-point proposal along with the budget and policy and programmes for the fiscal year 2021/22. A budget of Rs 1.26 billion was endorsed including 14 municipal projects and 13 pride projects on a cost-sharing basis.
Other significant proposals passed by the assembly include mandatory provision for community school management committee office-bearers and teachers to educate their children in community schools and transferring budget from one heading to another only with the permission of the municipal assembly, said Mayor Narayan Won.
