Rolpa, Sept 22: A mother and her daughter died when they were struck by a falling stone from a cliff. They are 27-year-old Sangeeta Pun and her two-year-old daughter Kritika of Rolpa Municipality-9.
The mother and her little daughter were hit by a boulder that fell along with a landslide, the District Police Office Rolpa said. It is said the mother and daughter were hit by the boulder while returning home after driving away monkeys in the cornfield near their house.
The locals had informed the police after they spotted the dead bodies in a ravine 400 metres below the cliff.
Police Inspector Santosh KC said the bodies have been taken to the District Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, 42-year-old Tirtha Lal Thapa, who was found lying in a grass field near his house at Khumel of Rolpa Municipality, has died today in course of treatment, the District Police Office Rolpa stated. He was found lying at the spot while returning home after attending a wedding feast.
