By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Aug. 6: State Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of State 2, Gyanendra Kumar Yadav has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Bijaya Jha, information officer of State 2 Health Directorate, Minister Yadav's swab sample was collected on August 3 for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.
In the PCR test report, which came out on Wednesday evening, Minister Yadav was found to be infected with the novel coronavirus.
"Yadav's name is mentioned in the list of newly identified COVID-19 infected, which was revealed on Wednesday evening," said Jha.
The Minister had returned to the State on Sunday, August 3 from Kathmandu.
Before returning, he had met many political leaders including the Prime Minister and the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
It has been said that he was present in a meeting held at the PM's residence, Baluwatar.
State Ministers for Internal Affairs and Law of all seven states were present in the meeting along with the Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal', secretary of the Ministry of Home Minister (MoHA) and consultant of the Home Minister.
