Medical camp boosts Nepal-Pakistan ties

Panchkhal (Kavre), Feb. 28: Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) Saturday organised the 13th free medical camp at Lamidanda, Panchkhal of Kavre.
Nepali doctors who graduated from Pakistan conducted the camp. The patients who visited for check-ups mostly comprised of the poor, needy, children, women and elderly persons.
The physicians examined the patients suffering from diabetes, blood pressure, neurological, ENT, cardiovascular, pediatric and orthopedic problems. More than 400 people benefited from the one-day health camp.
Addressing the inauguration function, newly appointed Pakistani ambassador to Nepal Syed Haider Shah said that Pakistan and Nepal had been linked by shared culture, history and civilizational ethos.
“The medical camp is a testimony of the fact that the peoples of two nations are bound together by common values of service for humanity,” he said, adding that the health camp would further enhance the bilateral ties between the two neighbours.
Mahesh Kharel, Mayor of Panchkhal Municipality, said that Nepal and Pakistan belonged to the same Hindu Kush region and appreciated the Pakistan-graduated doctors for their service to the needy people.
Association general secretary Manju Ratna Sakya said that his organisation was committed to boosting Nepal-Pakistan ties through creative activities like the health camp.
On the occasion, coordinator of Lalitpur Three Tesla MRI, Nirmala Shrestha, announced that the patients who visited today’s health camp would be provided at least 20 per cent discount if they opted for MRI at their facility.
