Panchthar, Feb 3: A person has died of altitude sickness in Panchthar, a district in Province no 1.
Thirty-one years old Bishal Magar of Tunibot, Phalelung Rural Municipality-5 died at local Dhoopidanda. Bishal and his younger brother Bikram Magar, at 12.30 pm on Wednesday, were heading towards Aahal, the highland near the border with India where their herds of yaks were stationed.
But he had returned home as it started snowing when they had reached around 15 kilometers from their home.
Bishal, who fell unconscious due to altitude sickness when he reached Dhoopidanda on the way back home, died at the spot this morning, the District Police Office Panchthar stated. A police team from Prambung police post has reached the spot for necessary investigation.
