Butwal, Aug. 18: Today's meeting of the Lumbini Province Assembly has been postponed.
Speaker Purna Bahadur Gharti announced the postponement of the meeting till August 19 after the main opposition party, CPN (UML) obstructed it.
Province Assembly member Hari Rijal said that the meeting was postponed as province assembly members—Bimala Oli and Ajay Shahi, elected from CPN (UML), have not been relieved of the post even after the CPN (UML) has taken against them.
He shared, "They will not let the house function until Oli and Shahi are not relieved of posts as they carried out activities against party's norms, values and discipline and also violated party's whip."
As soon as the meeting started, Lumbini Province Assembly members from the CPN (UML) had also chanted a slogan. The meeting was also deferred on Tuesday.
