Biratnagar, April 7: The State 1 government has decided to provide an insurance coverage worth Rs. 5 million for health workers, security personnel, ambulance drivers and any staffer working at the local level in the current fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In case of death of any such frontline worker, the next to kin will receive the insurance amount of Rs. 5 million.
The insurance also applies to any staff deputed by the State government in any government or private hospital for control, prevention and treatment of COVID-19. The decision was taken by the Council of Ministers of the State today.
Furthermore, the health personnel currently mobilized in the fight against Coronavirus in the State will receive incentive allowance, which would not duplicate the provision made by the central government, said the Chief Minister's press advisor Dhruva Subedi.
