Saptari, Aug. 20: The Saptari Police has today arrested 41-year-old Uma Bhujel and 31-year-old Suman Singh Poudel. Bhujel is the central member and Poudel a district-level leader of the banned Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).
Deputy Superintendent at the District Police Office Saptari, Tilak Bharati, who is also the information officer at the office, confirmed the arrest of the two leaders of the Chand outfit.
The Area Police Office Kanchanrup, Saptari is prosecuting them on the charge of misbehaving against police at Bhardaha. Bhujel is the politburo member of the Chand Group. She was also the member of the Interim Legislature Parliament.
They were released on general date on Tuesday by the district Court Sunsari.
