Kathmandu, Sept 28: CPN (Maoist Centre) Standing Committee member Barshaman Pun who is long-suffering from jaundice is being taken to Thailand for treatment on Wednesday.
He has been suffering from vomiting and fever for few days and was admitted to the Lalitpur-based Sumeru Hospital. He was diagnosed with an increased level of bilirubin there. It was decided to take him to Thailand for further treatment in consultation with party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' after his health did not improve.
The former finance and energy minister will be taken to Bumrungrad International Hospital, according to his personal secretary Santosh Pun.
Doctors involved in Pun’s treatment said his condition was genetically inherited. His spouse and former Speaker Onsari Gharti will be accompanying him to Thailand.
