Baitadi, June 29: Landslide triggered by incessant rainfall has disrupted the Mahakali highway. The landslide that occurred this morning at Panebanj along the Gokuleswor-Darchula road section obstructed the highway.
Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Padma Bahadur Bista said the mudslide took away around 50 meters section of the road and also broke the gabion wall. Traffic has been completely put to a halt after the damages causes to the road.
As it was not possible for JCB to clear off the road due to heavy landslide, arrangement of excavator is being made now for the same. Police said the road traffic would resume by this evening. The highway disruption has left the passengers in the lurch with the vehicles stranded on the road.
