By A Staff Reporter, Lalitpur, Sept. 19: Lalitpur District Administration Office (DAO) has prohibited schools from running physical classes.
In a notice issued on Saturday, the DAO called on all the schools of the district to refrain from conducting physical classes as the threat of COVID-19 had still not subsided. If, for any reason, the schools must run physical classes then they are required to follow the school operation guidelines formulated by the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (DCCMC) and the smart lockdown guidelines issued by the federal government.
The DAO has also asked the local governments to coordinate with the DCCMC to ensure that the schools operating physical classes are doing so safely.
Similarly, the notice, signed by Chief District Officer Dhundi Prasad Niroula, has asked political parties and their affiliated organisations to follow the government’s health protocol while holding events and programmes. They must also make sure that their programmes do not disturb social order and security.
The DAO has also urged everyone to celebrate festivals only symbolically and keep public participation to a minimum.
