Kathmandu, Feb. 28: Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidhya Sundar Shakya on Saturday said that the city is in the heritage campaign.
Inaugurating the reconstruction of Shree Bhaskardev Sanskrit Keshachandrakrit Paravat Mahavihara-based Devadya: Chhen (KUL DEVATA GHAR), Mayor Shakya informed that during his tenure, a lot of heritage work is in progress.
Devadya Chhen has been reconstructed in Itumbaha which is at the heart of Kathmandu with the help of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. It is Ista devata's home to more than 150 households in Itumbaha. The foundation stone to rebuild the Devadya: Chhe was laid about two years ago.
Mayor Shakya said that after the reconstruction of Devadya: Chen the work of the metropolitan city is over. Now it is the responsibility of the Keshachandrakrit Paravat Mahavihar Conservation Society to protect it.
Captain Chandra Bahadur Shakya, president of the Keshachandrakrit Paravat Mahavihar Samrakshan Samaj, thanked all parties for their support in the reconstruction of Devadya: Chhen that as the pride and prestige of Itumbaha. He said that Keshachandrakrit Paravat Mahavihar is a prosperous and well-equipped Mahavihar of Nepal Mandal.
Similarly, Pragya Ratna Shakya, general secretary of the Mahavihar Samrakshana Samaj, said that many intangible heritages of the society remain to be preserved.
