London, July 28 : The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) UK chapter has honoured Shree Bhakta Khanal with the 'FNJ UK Journalist of the Year' award.
Founding president of the chapter Nabin Pokharel handed 502 Pound Sterlings, outgoing president Naresh Khapangi Magar presented the letter of commendation and incumbent president Dhruba Raj Aryal handed the khada scarf to Khanal, amid a programme.
President Aryal said Khanal has been awarded for his news feature titled 'La Bassibata Gorkhali Baha (Gorkhali's Lamentations from La Bassi),' published in himalkhabar.com on October 31, 2020.
Khanal is active in journalism, documentary making and book writing. He has published three books.
The award is given to encourage Nepali journalists based in UK towards writing investigative news.
