Mahendranagar, Oct 20 : A couple died in wild tuskers' attack at Shuklaphanta municipality-12, Basantapur in Kanchanpur this morning.
According to the information shared by the Kanchanpur District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as Dhwoj Bahadur Karki, 55, of Basantapur and his 45-year-old wife Madhura.
A police team under the command of Police Inspector Karna Bahadur Bohora from the Area Police Office, Jhalari is moving towards the incident site.
As informed, locals were screaming when a group of wild tuskers (9-10 in numbers) entered into the village from the nearby community forestry.
The tuskers had attacked Karki couple at the same moment, police said. "Tuskers coming from Dilashaini community forestry had attacked the villagers".
Bale Rana, ward chairperson of Shuklaphanta-12, said "There is still a fear that the tuskers can attack human settlement near the forest".
