Kalikot, Aug. 30: Four persons died as three houses collapsed in a dry landslide that occurred at Nagma bazaar in Tilagufa Municipality-1, Kalikot.
Three more people have gone missing in the disaster that occurred at 7:00 on Sunday morning,
The landslide occurred at Nagma bazaar at the border of Jumla and Kalikot district on Sunday morning, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Oliya in the District Police Office said. He added that the house of local Paryak Shahi was collapsed in the landslide.
Forty-year-old Paryak, his seven-year-old Hima, five-year-old son Nirajan Shahi and two-year-old son Akkal Shahi died in the incident.
DSP Oliya said that the dead bodies were recovered from the site at 3 this afternoon.
Paryak’s wife Punya Shahi and Arjun Hamal were rescued from the landslide and they are receiving treatment at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.
The police said that identity of those missing in the landslides is not ascertained so far and a search for them is ongoing.
