Lalitpur, Oct 20: International Youth Conference on Science and Technology and Innovation is taking place in the capital city from Monday.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and National Youth Council are jointly organising the three-day conference.
Around 300 youth scientists from 20 different countries would participate in the conference to be organised under the main theme 'Research and Innovation for Prosperity."
NAST Spokesperson Suresh Kumar Dhungel said that the youth Nepali scientists, living in and outside the country, involved in science, technology and innovation sector would exchange their knowledge, experience, skill and capacity in the conference.
Dhungel said, "The conference will help the government to formulate policy in near future on the issue of science and technology."
An extensive discussion would be held over the role of youth scientists in the society to take the country towards prosperity, it is learnt. Around 150 working papers would be submitted and 10 technology related stalls would be put on display in the conference, added Dhungel.
Renowned Indian scientist Prof Dr Krishna Lal would put his view on the issue of science, technology and innovation in the conference.
