Kimathanka, March 10: Identities of all the 14 deceased of the Sankhuwasabha bus accident have been ascertained.
The deceased are Samikshya Yonjan, 31, of Taplejung and her eight-year-old son Sudeep Ghising, Sita BK, 30, Indra Adhikari, 38, Anjana Katuwal, 32, and five-year-old daughter, Dikshya Katuwal, daughter of Tulasa Katuwal of Madi-6, Deepak Kumar Dahal, 48, Shyam Sherpa, 55, and Bhawani Prasad Dahal, 49, of Madi-5.
Chief of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, Laldhoj Subedi, said that Aait Bahadur Tamang, 38, Sabita Karki, 28 and assistant driver Umesh Bhattarai, 35, of Madi-4, driver Bipin Niraula, 30, of Aunshidanda in Tehrathum and Bal Bahadur Karki, 60, of Madi-4 were killed in the accident.
All of them died on the spot in the accident. The accident took place when a bus en route to Damak of Jhapa from Okharbote of Madi fell around 300 meters off the road near Saatghumti of Madi-6 this morning, said police.
The injured—Dambar Bahadur Karki, Karisma Tamang, Tulasa Katuwal, Subas Tamang and Yuwa Pokharel have been airlifted to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, in a Nepali Army's chopper for further treatment.
