Kathmandu, Jan 11: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that he has taken the student unions' concerns regarding the fees charged by the private medical colleges from the MBBS, BDS and BNS students seriously.
Receiving a memorandum submitted by different student unions at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday, Minister Khand said that he would move ahead by holding consultations with the stakeholders.
Student unions including Nepal Student's Union, All Nepal National Independent Student's Union (Revolutionary), All Nepal National Free Student's Union (ANNFSU), Socialist Student Union and others submitted their memo to Minister Khand.
On the occasion, Minister Khand said that it would be easier for him if this issue come through the Ministry of Education while asking the student unions' leaders to draw Education Minister's attention.
The agitating student unions have asked the government to probe into different private medical colleges for charging exorbitant fees from the MBBS, BDS and BNS students, which is much higher than the fees fixed by the Medical Education Commission.
