Kanchanpur, Jan 30: The health desk at Gaddachauki on the western border checkpoint has been made systematic.
The Bhimdatta Municipality upgraded the health desk in partnership with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Department of Health Services, Epidemiology and Disease Control Division.
The health desk was brought into operation close to the highway at Gaddachauki since February last year after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. It has now been upgraded into a two-bed permanent facility with additional equipments. The number of health workers has also been increased.
The health desk has been made systematic to operate it as a permanent quarantine at the border checkpoint to check the spread of epidemics in the coming days as well, Public Health Officer at the Division, Ram Bahadur Nepali, said.
He said the health desk at Gaddachauki and Gauriphanta border checkpoints in the Sudurpaschim province have been upgraded with the cooperation of IOM. It is stated that the health desk at 13 various places across the country are to be upgraded.
