Khotang, March 25 : A forest fire has destroyed four houses and a goat farm in Khotang.
The fire that broke out in a community forest of Diktel-Rupakot-Majhuwagadhi municiplaity-15 Bijayakharka ravaged the houses of Tej Binod Dhakal, Hem Sagar Dhakal, Khemraj Dhakal of Baseri and Durga Bahadur Bhujel of Badahar.
Sagar Khanal, a local, said the fire that spread from local Jurethumka and Sanghuri community forests had entered into the human settlement and ravaged the houses.
Khanal further informed that the Dhakal families whose residences were ravaged in a forest fire eight years ago have also faced the same tragedy now.
Chief District Officer and District Natural Disaster Relief Committee Mitralal Sharma shared that a team comprising Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police has been mobilized in the fire-ravaged area.
Locals along with the security forces now are effortful to douse the fire.
